Under Armour launch first road running shoe with a Michelin Sole
0The Under Armour HOVR Coldgear® Reactor was the latest addition to their winter collection. Developed specifically for runners who refuse to take to the treadmill during the winter months, it features three innovations that cannot be found anywhere else:
- UA ColdGear Reactor technology An innovation thats been tried and tested in their cold weather apparel lines and keeps the most dedicated runners feet warm and dry when tackling the harshest elements
- UA HOVR cushioning Contains and maximises energy return and creates a more stable system for optimal responsiveness.
- Soles by Michelin The first time ever on a road running shoe!
Under Armour partnered with Michelin for their expertise in ground contact to create the hallmark outsole which features a tread design inspired by the Michelin Wild Digr mountain bike tyre. The special tread pattern with tall, sharp, widely spaced blocks increases the ground contact patch and penetrates deep mud easily, especially on the heel where it facilitates deceleration and braking on wet or icy surfaces.
If you thought that was enough technology for one shoe, think again, because this one is also available in a connected version! A small chip, embedded into the midsole pairs with the MapMyRun app enabling the runner and the shoes to be digitally connected and track distance, pace, stride length, shoe lifespan and access virtual coaching while building a running community.
The UA HOVR ColdGear Reactor shoes are available from UA.com, starting at $110 USD/£100 GBP
