MICHELIN and SPEEDLAND introduce a revolution in trail running shoes
0The ability to innovate trail running equipment, starting from a unique and revolutionary shoe that combines all the most advanced technical solutions available on the market.
This is the goal of Speedland, the brand created by Dave Dombrow and Kevin Fallon who, after two decades of designing product and leading teams at the world’s largest footwear brands, have decided to create a unique and innovative trail running shoe.
The SL: PDX is the first trail running shoe which is completely customizable, starting with its sole and continuing with an easily removable carbon fiber plate.
The sole is developed exclusively by MICHELIN and uses two innovative technologies:
- Michelin cuttable blocks technology is used for the first time, taken from mountain bike tyres and allowing the runner to customize the sole by “cutting” the individual blocks to adapt them to their needs and to obtain maximum performance, safety and comfort.
- Michelin fiberlite technology is made using a combination of fibers and rubber in a hot compression process which provides strength and stability, while ensuring flexibility and lightness.
At the end of the shoe’s lifespan, each layer can easily be separated and recycled and some components of the shoe can also be replaced to further extend its life.
Ten percent of all profits from the sale of the SL: PDX will be donated to outdoor organizations chosen by Speedland sponsored athletes.
