Kempa and Michelin extend long-term co-operation to 2020
0Since 2009 Kempa have relied on the expertise of Michelin when it comes to the development of soles for handball and indoor sports shoes. The know-how of a tyre expert is crucial when it comes to the composition of the rubber compound and tread pattern design and thats what sets them apart from other sole manufacturers.
Most indoor sports shoes require maximum grip, abrasion resistance and the ability to quickly shift direction. Extensive maneouvres with full control and permanent feedback to the ground require reliable high-performance equipment.
To meet these standards, the development processes are sophisticated and after almost a decade of working together on new technologies, Kempa and Michelin have achieved their goals and renewed their contract until 2020 to celebrate .
Melanie Steinhilber, Managing Director of Kempa commented
The partnership with Michelin since almost ten years is a story of success for Kempa. Together with Michelin we are setting standards with our rubber composition when it comes to grip for indoor soles.
Tim Grothaus, Head of Sponsoring for Kempa added
The Michelin outsole is one of the key characteristics of the Kempa indoor shoes. The long-term cooperation with Michelin provided us competitive advantage in this area, which is tested by our Kempa pro players.
The latest shoes from Kempa, Attack One Contender and Wing Lite are characterized by their minimum weight whilst providing the necessary stability. For further information on the new collection go to: http://www.kempa-sports.com/en/stability-vs-lightness
