Launch of Tyre Sealant a Success!
0In the event of a puncture, the MICHELIN tyre sealant is a one-step, aerosol-based temporary repair solution. It works by sealing the hole and simultaneously re-inflating the tyre to a safe level to allow the car to be driven to the nearest tyre dealer where an expert can professionally assess the damage. Invariably the puncture will happen at a time when the weather is bad or the situation is dangerous so the tyre sealant has been developed to provide a quick, easy to use solution.
Since the press launch in May, the MICHELIN Tyre Sealant has received great feedback. Lots of press coverage has been generated since the launch and all of it positive!

Developed by Argentinian licensee, Bardahl, in collaboration with the Michelin Technology Centre and MLL it is now available in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.
The tyre sealant works by dispensing a latex foam and gas into the tyre. The latex foam works to seal the puncture and the gas inflates the tyre. Before driving the car the driver should check that the tyre pressure is at least 0.8 bar, the minimum pressure acceptable for safe driving; the car should then be driven straight to a tyre dealer for professional inspection. The car should not be driven at speeds greater than 80 Kilometres per hour until a professional assessment has been made. One aerosol can covers all tyres sizes up to and including 17 for passenger cars.
