AWARD WINNING WINQS SET TO START SUSTAINABLE SPORTS REVOLUTION
0New German brand, Winqs, were the latest footwear with MICHELIN soles to win an ISPO award at the outdoor sports industry’s leading show in January.
Winqs carry performance and sustainability in their DNA, and the new Zerofly is the first high performing running shoe in the world derived almost entirely from bio-based and recycled materials.
The MICHELIN sole is a Hybrid technology sole reusing rubber otherwise wasted in the sole making process, therefore minimizing the environmental impact, while maintaining a high level of grip and comfort.
The upper is made from recycled polyester, the lining from eucalyptus fibres, the insole from algae foam and the midsole from castor beans, all contribute to a lightweight but cushioned running shoe offering all round comfort and support.
In addition, Winqs uses only recycled paper materials for its cardboard boxes and hangtags and also keeps an eye on the end-of-use phase offering customers a “RePair, ReUse & ReCycle” service.
