Welcome to Shivam
0As announced back in June, Michelin Lifestyle welcomes on board a new Director and head of Brand Licensing, Shivam Saxena.
Shivam has spent most of the summer making, both a geographical transition from Dubai to Paris, and a professional transition into the new role.
He is very much looking forward to meeting our team and licensees by video or in person as soon as possible, but in the meantime he took the time to answer a few question so we can get to know him:
Shivam, when did you join Michelin Lifestyle?
- I officially joined MLL on July 1st, 2021 and after a couple of months of transition I have now fully taken over the position of Managing Director for MLL starting Sept 1st following my move from Dubai to Paris.
What has been your career journey leading up to joining Michelin Lifestyle?
- I have been with Michelin for 6 years during which I have been involved with our core tyre business within the Africa, India, Middle East region. During this time I have held roles within Corporate Development, where I worked on topics related to busines strategy, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. For the past 3 years I was responsible for enhancing the Quality of Customer Experience we delivered to our channel partners and end consumers.
- Prior to Michelin, I have a background in Management Consulting where I worked on strategy related projects for global clients across the Automotive and Consumer Goods industry in the United States, Canada, Europe and India
What does your job entail and what are your responsibilities?
- In a nutshell, my job entails supporting our teams and licensees in delivering the unique Michelin brand experience to our global customers through differentiated products, beyond our traditional tire business. In doing so, my key responsibility is to ensure that we always stay true to Michelin’s brand values and maintain the balance between our objectives related to People, Planet, and Profit.
What are your key priorities for 2021 and beyond?
- My goal would be to build on the strong foundation that already exists within the Licensing business and focus on
- expanding the reach of our licensed products to international markets,
- building a strong relationship with our end-consumers by leveraging both traditional and new age digital channels
- ensuring we create value, both for license partners and Michelin
What do you think will be the biggest challenge?
- In an extremely uncertain market context, which has been impacted by the global pandemic our biggest challenge will be to stay agile while continuing to be focused on our priorities. We along with our licensees need to ensure we channel our efforts & resources efficiently in areas where we have the biggest growth opportunities.
What are you looking forward to most?
- Personally, I am extremely excited to meet and interact with our licensees across the globe and look forward to strengthening our partnership by working together to achieve our growth ambitions
What do you like to do out of work?
- Outside of work I like spending time with my family, which includes my wife and my 6 year old daughter. I am also extremely interested in sports; especially cricket and football. While I don’t anymore get to the chance to play as often as I would like, I do try to stay active by running and can’t wait to experience our Michelin soles during my next run.
