MICHELIN COLLECTORS STORE SCREEN PRINT PROCESS
0Michelin Collectors Store pictures are not just any old pictures, theyve been individually hand crafted and screen printed by French artists in a studio in Lyon using the finest quality paper.
Screen printing is a manual printing technique which uses screens of stretched nylon, in the form of a mesh which lets the ink pass through to the desired positions. It requires one pass per colour. However, the number of inks can be multiplied by superimposing the passes. This craftsman technique lends a certain cachet to reproductions, therefore is perfectly suited to limited-run prints.
13 different designs capture the history of Michelins advertising campaigns and the Michelin Man in his many guises over the years and only 60 to 200 copies were made of each design.
