Team Michelin: En route to the Olympics!

Team Michelin is an initiative launched in September 2014 by the Group to promote the practice of sport and its values amongst employees. It consists of a series of meetings and events organized at more than ten sites in France around two great champions supported by Michelin:
Renaud Lavillenie, Olympic pole vault champion and world record holder, and Yohann Diniz, three-times European 50km walk champion and world record holder.
Before leaving for the Olympic Games in Rio, the Team Michelin champions stopped off at Carmes site in Clermont-Ferrand France to share sport values with its employees.
“We are proud to welcome two great champions whose feats, fame and values go beyond sport in the strict sense. There are numerous parallels to be drawn between high-level sport and business, and what is more, in a group like ours where performance, passion and surpassing oneself are century-old values”, said Claire Dorland-Clauzel, Group Director of Brands and External Relations.
About the partnership with Renaud Lavillenie and Yohann Diniz:
Since January 2012, Michelin has been the exclusive partner of Renaud Lavillenie within France in the tyre, road map and guidebook sector.
In 2013, Michelin signed a four-year skills partnership with Yohann Diniz. The aim of this partnership is to allow Michelin to increase its knowledge of sports shoes to help us design new ones in the future. It provides an opportunity to test new products in the most extreme conditions and make the most of his expertise in race walking
