Under Armour Launch Footwear with Michelin Technical Sole
0Under Armour will shortly be launching a new trail running shoe with a MICHELIN technical sole for the US market. The sole is inspired by the MICHELIN Wild Grip R cycle tyre perfect for mixed terrain cycling and trail running! It will be launched with the strapline Go where you dont belong!
The sole is inspired by the MICHELIN Wild Grip R cycle tyre
The sole is inspired by the tires used on fat bikes which run at lower tyre pressures and therefore bounce over tough terrain – giving riders the ability to ride through anything. The sole of this shoe will do the same thing for runners.
It has features such as:
- Strong sculpture for optimal traction
- Alternate middle sculptures for a 360°traction
- Low distance rate between sculptures to guarantee wide contact surface during walking
- Multi-directional sculptures to improve traction and lateral stability
- Alternate sculptures for excellent slope-crossing traction.
Under Armour said, We partnered with Michelin to create the ideal outdoor compound and traction pattern, supplying excellent cross-slope grip and unparalleled all-terrain performance. We used our responsive, protective, supportive charged cushioning and bottom-loaded it with a softer, high-rebound foam. This allows the shoe to be responsive yet morph/adapt to the terrain. A spokesperson went on to say, we created a high-performance outdoor textile with bonded abrasion panels so runners have total stability and protection when they need it most.
